Isn't this a great new term?! It refers to the meet-and-sniff activity that dogs or cats do when they meet their four-legged friends out and about.
And it doesn't stop there... four students at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Media Center (MIT) collaborated on The Social Networking in Fur project (SNIF) to track dog petworking using an intelligent collar and leash system that connects to an online social networking database. The details are in this paper.
I think it would really be amazing if you could track a cat when he/she is out and about. I can just see it now - a kitty-cam reality show coming to your TV this fall. I'd watch it.
